From your first call to a finished driveway — here is exactly what happens when you choose Avant Gardens. No jargon, no surprises.
Call us free on 0800 458 0139, fill in the contact form, or use our online driveway calculator for an instant ballpark estimate. There is no obligation at this stage — just a conversation about what you are looking for. Most people call us having already looked at our portfolio and have a rough idea of pattern and colour. Others prefer to browse at the survey stage. Either is absolutely fine.
Sean visits your property at a time that suits you. He will measure the space, assess the ground conditions, discuss drainage, and walk you through pattern and colour options — bringing physical samples so you can see them in your actual lighting conditions against your house. At the end of the survey you will receive a fixed written quote. The price on that quote is the price you pay. We do not add extras on the day or revise costs once work starts.
Once you are happy with the quote and want to go ahead, we agree a start date. We are typically booked 4–8 weeks in advance depending on time of year. We will keep you updated in the lead-up and confirm the date a few days before. You do not need to do anything to prepare other than ensure the driveway area is clear and accessible.
Our directly-employed team arrives early and works through the day. A typical driveway is completed in a single day. Here is what happens on site:
The sealer needs 24–48 hours to cure fully. You can walk on the driveway after 2–3 days and drive on it after 28 days. The 28-day wait is important — concrete continues to strengthen and cure during this period and driving on it too early can cause marks. Once cured, maintain your driveway with an occasional hose or pressure wash and reseal every 2–4 years to keep it looking its best. We offer a professional resealing service if you need it.
Every driveway we install comes with our lifetime structural guarantee — the only company in Liverpool to offer this.

Had front and back done and could not be happier. The whole process was stress free. Turned up early and finished promptly. I learned something at every step.
Do I need to be home on installation day?
It helps to be available at the start of the day for any last-minute questions, but you do not need to be present throughout. We will update you at the end of the day.
What happens if it rains on installation day?
Light rain is manageable and rarely causes a delay. Heavy rain on the day of the pour may require rescheduling — we will always call you in advance if we need to move the date.
Can you work around existing drains and manhole covers?
Yes — we work around existing drainage as standard. Where needed we can raise or lower covers to match the new surface level.
How disruptive is the installation?
The excavation is the noisiest part, typically in the morning. By the end of the day the driveway is finished and the team have cleaned up. Most neighbours barely notice.
What if I am not happy with the finished result?
In over 30 years of trading this has never been an issue — we discuss exactly what you want at the survey stage and deliver on it. If you have any concerns after completion, call Sean directly and we will address them.
Do I need planning permission?
In most cases no — front driveway replacements are permitted development provided drainage is handled correctly. We advise on this at the survey. Listed buildings and conservation areas may be different.
